Delivery of 12 Renault GBC 180 to Ivory Coast
An Ivorian agro-industrial group trusted Lys Tout Terrain to supply 12 Renault GBC 180 4×4 trucks for its rubber plantations in the Daloa region.


Client requirement
An Ivorian agro-industrial group operating rubber plantations in the Daloa region (Côte d'Ivoire, Bandama) was looking for robust trucks capable of operating on unsealed tracks in all seasons, particularly during the rainy season.
The selection criteria were precise: 4×4 traction, minimum payload of 5 tonnes, compatibility with the local repair network, and controlled budget.
Our selection
After studying the requirements, Lys Tout Terrain proposed 12 Renault GBC 180 (6×6, 185 hp diesel engine, 6-speed manual gearbox) from a French army surplus batch. These vehicles offered:

- ▸Tipper body + tarpaulin flat bed available
- ▸Abundant spare parts in France and West Africa
- ▸Demilitarised, registered in France before export
Preparation and logistics
Each truck underwent a complete workshop overhaul: engine, gearbox and axle oil change, brake check, filter replacement, electrical inspection. The 12 units were grouped at our Beaurainville (62) site then transported by road convoy to the port of Antwerp.
Loading was carried out in 2 RORO container rotations (6 trucks per rotation). The COTECNA inspection was performed 48 hours before departure, with certificates issued to the client.
CFR Abidjan Incoterm: Lys Tout Terrain covered sea freight and port charges up to berth in Abidjan. The client handled local customs clearance with their own freight forwarder.
Sea transit: 18 days from Antwerp.
Outcome
The 12 vehicles were received within the agreed timeframe. The agro-industrial group confirmed mechanical availability of over 92 % in the first year of operation, with spare parts supplied by Lys Tout Terrain within 5 business days.
This client returned for a second order of 8 vehicles the following year.
